How to Prepare for Cub Scout Resident Camp

We’ll provide almost everything you need for a successful weekend at camp. Below is a plan for packs to follow leading up to camp and a packing list for families to use. Additional resources are provided under ‘Cub Resident Camp’ in the forms tab of this website.

For the Pack - Here are the 10 steps you need to plan a successful visit to summer camp.

  1. Set a date for camp and get it on everyone’s schedule in November and December.
  2. Get commitment and deposits from families to attend camp in December and January.
  3. Make your reservation at by the end of January.
  4. You will get a packet in the mail with additional materials including leaders guides and instructions.
  5. Share all of the important information with those families attending camp.
  6. Continue to promote summer camp at Pack and Den gatherings. As long as spots are open you can add to your reservation.
  7. Collect money from families and make a final payment by April 1 to keep all of your spots.
  8. Make sure your reservation numbers are correct by April 1 to get full refunds.
  9. Two weeks before your campout please double-check your information and send out reminders to attending families.
  10. When you arrive at camp you will be directed through the check-in process which will take 1-2 hours including moving in and health/swim checks. After that you can sit back and relax!

Have a great time at camp!
